Jim's 2007 Resume Sourcing Survey

Survey Jim Stroud has put together a free report called "The 2007 Resume Sourcing Survey".  Whilst it is US focused, I would recommend UK recruiters take a look too.

As Jim says "It is a 6-page insight into Google, Live and Yahoo and how they compare in terms of quantity of resumes".  The report covers:

  • Top 10 industries by resume sourced on Google, Live and Yahoo
  • Popular industry keywords mentioned on resumes
  • Most popular ways to spell  "CV" and "resume"
  • Quantity of resumes found on search engines.

If I had the time I would love to do a UK version of his survey.  The search strings he uses (with a few changes to keywords) work just the same in the UK.  I spent 10 minutes having a quick play about with a few searches and could see I was getting nowhere near as many UK CVs as he has been finding resumes for US jobseekers.

If you want to take a look at his report you can download the PDF file from his site
