Networking 9 to 5
I'm wondering if I've got an online networking addiction.
I've just signed up for another business networking site: FastPitch! (I didn't put an exclamation mark at the end of that sentence - it's actually their company name. The use of which makes me wonder if FastPitch! isn't a company set up by two 14 year old's from their parent's garage). According to their site "Fast Pitch! is the fastest growing online network of professionals who are networking and marketing their business". You can read all about their business and see a photo of the CEO (who doesn't look scarily young) via their "about us" page.
I was alerted to the site by one of my real world networking buddies. I've only just signed up so haven't had a chance to look at the site in depth. It seems you have to upgrade to get access to quite a few of the services. However, if you are interested you can connect to me here.
I'm also on Ecademy and Xing. I don't use Xing much (quite European focussed) and I've been registered with Ecademy for year's but have been put off by the amount of services you have to pay for.
Finally, there are two other business networking sites I use more often. New kid on the (UK) block Viadeo (here is a previous blog post about the site) and my old favourite LinkedIn (here's my profile).
Right, just off to set up my MySpace profile...

Louise,
I'm writing an article on networking and online networking. What are the benefits you've experienced of online networking?
Thanks for your help,
Karen
