Jobcasting with JobsinPods

Jobsinpods I got the following press release earlier this week:

Podcast Your Jobs With JobsinPods.com
HR manager's looking for more memorable ways to advertise jobs and promote your employer brand, then a new online recruiting tool may be just what you seek. JobsinPods.com is a unique service that brings jobs and podcasts together. The site, which is also a blog, advertises your jobs through audio podcast interviews which they conduct over the phone with your HR staff & employees.

The site has only recently launched and so far there are only half a dozen jobcasts (the official term for this medium) on there.  However, they include jobs with Zoominfo, T-Mobile and Electronic Arts.

During each interview the Recruiting Manager is asked a series of scripted questions (like What's it like to work there? What kind of perks do you offer? How do you encourage employee growth?) then they talk through the role they are hiring and how a jobseeker can apply.  Apparently the process only takes around 20 minutes of the Hiring Manager's time.  It also seems quite low cost to me at around £160 per jobcast (they having pricing information on the website).  The jobcast is them posted onto the jobsinpods website and the client gets a widget so that they can place the podcasts on their own site.

I quite like the idea of jobcasting as another route to deliver the recruitment message to candidates.  In fact one of my favourite bloggers, Jim Stroud, did one for Microsoft recently. He spoke (in his lovely dulcet tones!) with someone from Microsoft's Critical Problem Resolution Platforms Performance Team about an "Escalation Engineer" vacancy

I'll have to see what jobcasting I can find taking place in the UK - and report back soon.
