Recruitment Industry Benchmarking

GraphIn April 2003 I wrote a brief review for the newsletter of Recruitment Industry Benchmarking (RIB).  When RIB's Director Crawfurd Walker got in touch last week I thought it might be interesting to take a peek at what's changed.

RIB was developed specifically for the Recruitment Industry by Romney Rawes. Using the data members can measure their performance against their competitors which enables them to focus on key areas for improving their business.

There are two types of RIB Membership available.  RIB Full Index Membership (providing 35 key measurements) costs £150 (+VAT) per month and RIB Essentials Membership (providing 12 key measurements) costs £49 (+VAT) per month.  This second scheme was launched with the REC in 2006.

At present they have in excess of 60 members signed up (they are industry wide; covering high street agencies, executive search, rec to recs and contract firms).  However, Crawfurd is currently undertaking a major recruitment drive and traffic is increasing rapidly.  This benefits all members as the more people taking part the bigger the sample size and the more valuable the data.

Having this sort of information is exactly what many recruiters need.  In fact many consultancies undertake independent data analysis every year or so.  With the RIB index you get the data every month for just short of £2000 a year.   I think it's well worth a look.
