Hitwise Top 20 Recruitment Sites
Every week in the ukrecruiter newsletter we publish statistics from Hitwise showing the top 10 recruitment sites in the UK. However in today's newsletter, in a new quarterly feature, we are publishing the top 20. The most visited UK recruitment sites last week, starting with the most popular, were:
| Rank | Domain | Market Share |
| 1 | www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk | 12.86% |
| 2 | www.jobs.nhs.uk | 4.45% |
| 3 | www.totaljobs.com | 3.49% |
| 4 | www.reed.co.uk | 3.21% |
| 5 | www.monster.co.uk | 2.99% |
| 6 | www.jobsite.co.uk | 2.23% |
| 7 | jobs.tes.co.uk | 1.33% |
| 8 | www.jobs.ac.uk | 1.27% |
| 9 | www.1job.co.uk | 1.07% |
| 10 | www.jobsgopublic.com | 1.06% |
| 11 | www.friendsreunitedjobs.co.uk | 1.00% |
| 12 | my.monster.co.uk | 0.96% |
| 13 | www.cv-library.co.uk | 0.94% |
| 14 | www.eteach.com | 0.93% |
| 15 | www.axcis.co.uk | 0.92% |
| 16 | www.linkedin.com | 0.90% |
| 17 | www.s1jobs.com | 0.88% |
| 18 | www.jobserve.com | 0.85% |
| 19 | www.prospects.ac.uk | 0.85% |
| 20 | jobs.guardian.co.uk | 0.85% |
You can see there is a significant difference in market share between 1st and 2nd position. The top ten sites have 34% of the market share. There are currently 2141 sites being tracked in this category.
I know that many of our newsletter readers find the Hitwise data really useful. However, the slight problem with it is that Hitwise don't aggregate data from sites who form part of a network (such as fish4.co.uk). Whilst this is a limitation of Hitwise I can understand that it is not an easy one to address.
If you want to buy access to the data the minimum contract is £12,500 for five categories per annum. The system is web based so you can log on and check the stats anytime. There is full information on the packages on their website.
If you like the data but aren't looking to spend that amount of money, never fear, we certainly plan to continue to work with Hitwise and distribute the data every week in the newsletter to you for free.

Thanks for this Louise, very useful!

As noted in the article HitWise and Comscore have difficulties aggregating. Often the structure of a website can work against it with these technologies given the way they work. NORAS and ABCe audited numbers are more accurate. Monster and fish4 would probably be the top 2 if it wasn't for their website structures.
