Jobster is hitting these UK shores

JobsterukLast night I had a conference call with Jason Goldberg, CEO of Jobster and Martin Cerullo, Director of Resourcing Communications of Alexander Mann Solutions (AMS).

They wanted to give me the heads-up on their new partnership.  AMS are now Jobster's exclusive partner for sales and marketing of the Jobster recruiting tools in the UK and EU.  Martin and Jason have been working together for over a year but this new alliance will bring Jobster's social networking solutions to the recruitment space in the UK.

Jobster is very focussed on the "digital generation" and AMS are works to ensure their clients benefit from new and innovative sourcing technology and techniques.  Martin Cerullo (specifically in his previous role at Euro RSCG Worldwide - a global recruitment communications agency) has been at the forefront of web 2.0 for some time (this is an article he wrote for the Jobster blog last August).  If you want to know more about the Jobster proposition here's something I wrote about them a while ago.

Jobster already have a number of UK Clients and the partnership with AMS will see a new push on getting the word out to the UK market.

Jobster are also about to launch a new application on Facebook and AMS will be the lead partner on this.  I think Jason is planning to blog about this project later in the week.

Finally, Jason also mentioned that on 20th September he's coming to London (which is apparently his favourite city in the world) to host a seminar with AMS on how to use social networking.   The topic is right up my street - so if you plan to attend I will see you there!

At last they are going to take the UK seriously. I think Jobster is a great tool, albeit a little US orientated (to be expected I guess!) Using Jobster on the client side in the UK, is interesting indeed - but with many hiring managers still trying to get their head around social networking, I am not sure that this will be a favoured approach.....just yet anyway. It is a great tool, no question, but you do need to really 'get into it' to get the best out of it.
