Prize offered to winner of Best UK Recruitment Blog of 2007
Jason Davis of Recruitingblogs.com has contacted me (facilitated by the fabulously nice Dave Mendoza) to offer a prize to the winner of our "Best UK Recruitment Blog of 2007" awards. As well as the (possibly past it's sell by date) stollen I am offering, the winner will now receive $500 (about £250) of Amazon vouchers.
I'm really thrilled that Jason has offered to help support the awards. He's a really great guy, although, if you've never ventured outside of the UK recruitment industry you may not know him. So here is a bit of background. Jason has been in the indsutry since 1993. In 1997 he started his own recruiting firm that specialised in the semiconductor industry. At that time, Jason, started investing heavily in recruiting related domain names and shortly after that became quite interested in blogs and how blogging could help recruiters make more placements. In 1996 he bought the domain name Recruiting.com and in 2002 sold it to Jobster. Jason recently launched RecruitingBlogs.com, works with ERE media and has recently just launched the Fordyce Letter website.
RecruitingBlogs.com is a great site for recruiters looking to interact with each other in a more personal way than some of the other social networks out there. It is focused on those in the recruiting industry. There are currently over 900 people who have signed up and a good amount of those people use the site often.
What's what's especially cool about Jason offering up a prize is that it was the RecruitingBlogs.com's awards that insprired me to set up this award (for more information on the Recruiting.com awards you can read a blog post Jason wrote and see who the winners were).
For the UK Recruiter Blog Awards you only have until mid-day 29th January to place your vote. The winner (and runners up) will be announced at the end of the month.
Thanks again Jason for your support!

Hi Louise, thanks for the useful blog post. One thing though, you mention Jason bought recruiting.com in 2002 and sold it in 1996 to Jobster.. does Jason own a time machine?

@ Chris
Thanks for that. I was obviously having a very bad day when I wrote that post. That's the second typo I've had to amend!
Regards, Louise
