Recruitment Events this week

It's going to be a busy week this week

On Wednesday we'll be announcing the winner of our UK Recruitment Blogs Award and presenting the winner with a $500 Amazon voucher from Jason at Recruitingblogs.com (still time to vote here!).

Also on Wednesday is the start of the "HR Directors Business Summit 2008" in Birmingham.  This annual event should see around 500 HR Directors attending and over 80 companies exhibiting.  We will be publishing a review of the event sometime in the next few weeks as our "roving reporter" Chris Pilgrim of Uniq Prepared Foods is attending.  For last minute tickets call 020 7202 7509 or email Michael.piggott@wtgevents.com.

Then on Thursday evening it's our networking event (taking place near Farringdon in London)  We are almost fully subscribed so if you want to come please sign up quick.  Our speakers at this event are Matthew Jeffery and Dan McGuire.  Matthew is Head of Global Talent Brand at Electronic Arts and he will be talking about their recruitment model and how they, and other organisations, can revolutionalise recruitment in the future.  Dan, who is MD of Broadbean, is my co-host for the event and he's going to be talking about "Talent Attraction - how not to do it".  Knowing Dan this will involve being pretty rude about the companies involved!  I will report back on the event (with photos) for those of you who don't make it along.

On Thursday, also in London, there is a seminar on "The New Money Laundering Regime For Recruiters" organised by ATSCo in conjunction with Blake Lapthorn Tarlo Lyons.  This takes place during the day.  Contact Hayley.Morbin@atsco.org for more details.  If you can't make it I'm hoping to be able to run an overview of the subject in the newsletter in the next few weeks.

On Friday the Enhance Media "Online Recruitment the Year Ahead" conference takes place (at The Royal Goegraphical Society in London). At the end of last year I wrote about why I'm really looking forward to it.  As I'm actually attending this event I will be able to either write a review for the newsletter or a series of blog posts on what was covered.

Finally, next week The Recruitment Conference takes place. Organised by Recruitment Consultant magazine and sponsored by Broadbean (they get everywhere don't they).  I'm hoping to send along a "roving reporter" so we can give a write up in the newsletter.  There's more information on the event, the venue (London again) and details of how to book on the website.

Right, I'm off to cram five day's worth or work into three!
