Searching for Content on Blogs

BlogsearchIf you are looking for background information on an industry sector, specific product, type of technology, etc you may want to check out the blogosphere.  You may also find it a useful way of locating expert candidates in that field.  If you want to search blogs you should use a blog specific search engine.  So here is my handy list:

Google Blogsearch
Technorati
Ask- Blogs
Blogpulse
Blogdigger

On Technorati and Blogpulse you can track trends (to see activity pertaining to specific terms).  However, I personally find Technorati really confusing and always fall back on Google Blogsearch.

Once I find a blog I like (which doesn’t have it's own search functionality) I often use the "at this URL" to search for specific words/phrases within the site.  In fact I used to have to use it for my own blog when I'd forgotten if I'd already written about a subject!  It's no longer a problem since I added the nifty BlogBar search box you can see on the left.
