Specialist Recruitment and HR Broadcaster
About two weeks ago I got a call from Frank at Recruit Broadcast Media (RBM) to talk about his organisation and how they are working with recruitment companies. It turns out we both worked out of the same (fairly small) office in Newbury a few years back. So, seeing as we "know each other" I said I'd be happy to write something about his company on the blog.
Recruit Broadcast Media are probably (neither Frank nor I know of others) recruitments first broadcasting company ever to come to the market. Frank started his career as a teenager with Alexander Mann in the late 1980's progressing through various recruitment companies to a brand Operations Director at Manpower Group, Ireland. After so many years in the business he became bored and looked for a new challenge. He became Head of Sales & Marketing with the UK's leading captive audience digital broadcaster, Immedia, setting up and running live and ‘as live’ radio, TV, music video and digital signage channels for some of the UK's largest retailers, banks and global employers.
Having spent 5 years in digital media broadcasting his thoughts turned back to how these technologies and content services could be utilised in adding value to the recruitment industry, and how the public will expect job information to be served to them in the future. Basically, will jobs that are text based on email or paper be enough to engage the media savvy iPod, YouTube and Face Book generation, or will they disengage from employers and recruiter who cannot serve dynamic job content via mobile, on demand and digital platforms?
Obviously Franks prediction is the latter. He feels the recruitment industry will be transformed by the use of digital media content within a few short years purely because the public will demand it. The ‘digital’ hiring managers of tomorrow, (the iPod generation of today) will no doubt see current methods as outdated, time consuming and un-engaging.
RBM has been set up specifically to help recruiters meet this challenge head on and with a limited amount of time and investment. The company offers employers and recruiters a fully managed back office partnership which includes video, audio, web streaming and animation production services to promote their job opportunities. RBM then advises its clients on the best delivery channels to engage their chosen target audience for the best results.
Although RBM new website is currently under construction, you can see their demo/sales tool for recruiters above. It contains some interesting stats (including that video retention is 85% greater than the written text). It's a great pitch and very nicely presented.
