Who to Watch from the US in Recruitment
After Dave Mendoza called me The UK’s Recruitment Community’s Sweetheart (oh sorry, was linking to that a blatant bit of self PR?) I felt we were mates and I could ask him just about anything. So, I asked him "who to watch from the US in recruitment". I was asking who are the top industry gurus or "thought leaders". This is his top 10 (I'm guessing in no particular order - but I'm sure Dave will correct me if I'm wrong) of those who are visible on the blogosphere in addition to the conference circuit:
Jason Davis (RecruitingBlogs.com)
Dave Mendoza (SixDegreesFromDave/JobMachine)
Shally Steckerl (JobMachine)
Kevin Wheeler (Future of Talent)
Gerry Crispin (CareersXroads)
Steven Rothberg (CollegeRecruiter.com)
David Manaster (ERE CEO)
Anna Brekka (Director, Kennedy Info)
Dennis Smith (Wireless Jobs)
Joel Cheesman (cheezhead.com)
There are two others I, personally, get a great deal from following that I'd like to sneak in. They are Jim Stroud (jimstroud.com) and Jason Alba (JibberJobber).
So, check out their sites, read their blogs and see what's taking place in the international community of our industry.
By the way, please can no one ask me to come up with a list for the UK! It will take me forever and I'll have to add a ton of provisos. I'll be terrified I might offend someone by leaving them off. You need to ask a tough guy to produce a list like this. So, thanks again Dave.

Louise, that's very flattering, thank you for including me in this list of people to watch!

Wow. I don't think that I've ever been included in a top 10 list. At least not a positive one. :-)
Thanks!

Gee whiz! I went all the way to Feb 27th without finding this reference to the top 10 list! Dave would be very disappointed in me.
All I can say is, Dave, I'm flattered. And, sure glad I wasn't put on the spot to come up with the list! Whew!!!
