Recruitment Website Review from Stephen – Hammond Resources

Hammond Now that Stephen (O’Donnell from AllJobsuk.com) has started to contribute to the blog he’s creating content of all sorts.  This week he’s written a really positive web site review (maybe next time I’ll ask him to look at a dreadful site – as long as it’s not ours!).

In my everyday working life I am continually viewing and reviewing job boards and agency websites.  Having seen them all, from those with phenomenal graphical and technological wizardry to those which are downright amateur and embarrassing, I have developed a nose for what works, effectively and efficiently.  To my eye, www.HammondResources.co.uk achieves as near perfection as I’ve seen for its purpose, as a website for a 10 recruiter/ 2 branch recruitment agency.  Chrystal clear in its purpose, the workings and usability are paramount, and the design serves to frame this flawlessly.

Immediately the candidate is given the option of searching for a vacancy or the most suitable recruiter – all of whom are introduced individually.  The database of vacancies integrates seamlessly with the recruiters, so that there are no dead ends, and candidates are well informed and led to making contact directly.  They can apply very quickly, without having to formally register, or can take the time to provide more details.  Again, employers are able to identify the best recruiter for their purpose, and make direct contact.  This firm shows its pride in its recruiters by making them so available, including the Managing Director.

Of course, this site could have extra bells and whistles bolted on, but to what purpose?  This not a faceless brochure, with irrelevant flash graphics, and empty boasts.  It works simply because it is personal, detailed and direct.  The user knows precisely whom he or she is dealing with, and I for one felt the benefit of that.  I could go on, but the site itself can do this far better than I.Stephenod

If there are other similar recruitment firms seeking inspiration on just how well it can be done, then they could do far worse than to start here.

"Empty boasts" - oh, how true...

According to Mr O’Donnell's site, Hammond Resourcing 'specialises' in placing candidates across Scotland in:

1) Accountancy
2) Human Resources
3) Legal

On the one hand, that's awfully close to not 'specialising' at all - which might make 'specialises' an empty boast.

On the other hand, Hammond Resourcing doesn't insist it is "different" on its site - unlike every other recruiter in the country (which perversely makes them "different").

I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt. Fair enough.
